It’s the cable installation training you need to be safe, effective, and efficient on the jobsite. This 2-day in-person course will give you a comprehensive education on the tools, techniques, and equipment necessary for power / telecom cable installation.

Your trip to Mankato, Minnesota will combine classroom learning with product demonstrations and hands-on practice on our 10,000’ of test track. As a bonus, we’ll make time for classic Minnesota entertainment after our work is done.

Curriculum & Agenda

Condux University Pullers & Power Training

Day 1:
Classroom Training and Pullers & Power Demo’s

8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (CST)

  • Welcome to Condux and meet a few of our team members!

  • Discuss the importance of safety and what to keep in mind to stay safe both during your visit at Condux as well as in the feild.

  • Tour our full line-up of cable installation tools and equipment in our product showroom and where its made on the shop floor.

  • Introduce the tools and equipment needed to install cable successfully, classroom style. Duct rodders, seal-offs, carriers, pulling rope/tape, pulling grips, swivels, couplers, and more.

  • Lunch will be provided, featuring a Mankato must-have.

  • Our team will demonstrate the various applications of the CableGliders (lightweight, standard, and heavy duty), then give you an opportunity to do the same.

  • Through demonstration you’ll see the importance and versatility of the jamb skid, and how it should be used to increase efficiency and safety inside a manhole. You can practice setting it up and install sheaves or quadrant blocks to see how easy it is to use.

  • Watch how the winch line blower simplifies the task of installing winch line quickly, with no special tools required. Then, practice the setup and operation on your own, if you’d like.

  • Watch a demo then practice running The Blue Ox Cable Puller, getting a feel for 8,500 lbs. of continuous pull force and 150 degrees of lateral adjustment on the steel boom arm.

  • Demo, then practice operating the APS75 Cable Puller, featuring 7,500 lbs. of continuous pulling power.

Condux University Blowers & Telecom Training

Day 2:
Blowers & Telecom Demo’s

8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (CST)

  • Designed for FTTx and Enterprise micro fiber cable installation projects, the self contained Gulftsream 150 combines the push force of an electric motor with compressed air for installation of microfiber cables ranging from 1 - 2.5 mm, up to 375 feet per minute. You’ll see it in action, then give it a go!

  • Able to install cable ranging in size from 2.5 -8 mm, the Gulfstream 250 offers portability, convenience, and power for standard middle mile projects. Watch a demo, then operate it on your own.

  • An effective and economical approach to middle mile fiber installations, the Gulfstream 300 can install cable ranging in size from 2.5 - 8 mm. We’ll demo, then give you time to practice operating it independently.

  • Lunch will be provided, featuring a Mankato must-have.

  • The all pneumatic Gulfstream 350 can install fiber from 4 - 16 mm. We’ll demo this blower so you can see the mechanical counter, speed indicator, and maximum belt visibility in action, and learn how to set up and operate safely and efficiently. Then you can give it a try.

  • Outside on our 10,000 feet of test track we’ll demo the Gulfstream 400 in it’s various applications. Built to install cable ranging in size from 5.8 - 28.7 mm into microduct or traditional innerduct, you’ll be able to step into the driver seat and operate this workhorse.

  • Learn with hands on experience using the y-block to overlay cable or microduct into a preoccupied duct.

  • Consisting of a hydraulic motor and variable foot speed control, all fiber optic cable pullers are calibrated for a maximum pull tension of 600 lbs on a 30” capstan. We’ll show you how easy it is to set up and use - then let you take control.

Notes on Agenda: Lunch will be provided daily. Please plan your travel to account for an hour commute to/from the airport. Also, depending on weather and specific equipment interests of the class attendees, the agenda can and will fluctuate.
